The Cost of Gaming Convenience

The Consumerist reports on the energy cost of the major next-gen gaming systems. The article  focuses on the difference of leaving a console on while not in use and the energy costs are much higher. Turning a PS3 or an Xbox 360 off could save enough to purchase 2-3 games each year.

What I found most intriguing, however, was the difference between Sony and Microsoft’s consoles and the Nintendo Wii. Leaving a Wii on all the time is cheaper than turning a PS3 off between uses. Turning off a Wii, could lead to energy costs less than a cup of over-priced coffee.
